We started in 2022 as an independent team, made up of boys and girls from different schools and age groups, without an institution behind us or any professional structure. With second-hand materials, a lot of enthusiasm and a lot to learn, we entered the Lleida provincial tournament for the first time, where we won the Excellence in Engineering Award and achieved second place in the robot game.
The following season, the team grew with new members and took a very important step forward. We became the overall winners of the Lleida tournament, which qualified us for the national final. In Alicante, competing against some of the best teams from across the country, we won two third-place awards in two categories.
In our third season, we won the Lleida championship again, becoming the first team to achieve this two years in a row. That year, we also achieved the highest score in the robot game, a historic result within the Lleida competition. At the national final in Ferrol, we won two first-place awards, in robot design and robot performance, which opened the doors to the World Championship in Houston.
In Houston, we had a unique experience. Among 160 teams from around the world, we finished third in the robot game score, tied for the highest score with other teams, and received the Excellence in Engineering Award. That world championship marked a turning point for us, proving that an independent team from Mollerussa could compete at the highest international level.
Finally, in our fourth season, we once again became champions of the province of Lleida for the third consecutive year and qualified again for the national final. In Burgos, we won the first-place award for robot design and achieved one of the best scores in the robot game, confirming the strength of our work.
After a journey full of learning, effort and difficult moments, we returned to the World Festival in Houston with more experience than ever. There, against all expectations, we once again competed among the best teams in the world and achieved the great recognition we had worked so hard for: Robotech became world champion of the FIRST LEGO League.
Hearing our name in Houston was a very emotional moment. For us, it was not just an award, but the confirmation of the entire journey we had taken: years of perseverance, teamwork, robotics, innovation and many hours of shared work.
